Cairds Terms & Conditions

Thank you for choosing to book with Cairds Camping & Caravan Site. We look forward to welcoming you. When you make this booking, you are entering into an agreement with us. Please take a moment to read our terms and conditions.

 

  • Arrival

  • Guests can arrive from 2pm onwards.

  • Guests must report to the contact free reception before pitching to sign in, obtain their pitch allocation and pay any site fees due. 

  • Guests must pitch where directed by the reception board. 

 

  • Departure

 

  • Guests must vacate their pitch on the day of departure by midday. 

 

  • Vacated pitches must be left clear of all property and rubbish. 

 

  • Price

  • We reserve the right to change our prices at any time. This does not affect bookings that you have already made unless you have been advised at the time that there is going to be a price change. 

 

  • Payment

 

  • Payment is either

  • Full payment in advance via bank transfer, of which one nights stay (50% if staying for one night) is non-refundable.

  • One nights (50% if staying for one night) non-refundable deposit plus any refundable damages deposits via bank transfer with the balance being paid as cash on arrival.

 

  • If cancelling within 7 days of your stay, full payment is required unless we receive another booking.

 

  • ​Noise

 

  • Noise must be kept to a reasonable level at all times.

  • Between 10.30pm and 8am, there should be:

  • no vehicle movement unless agreed with the site manager

  • noise must be kept to a level that will not disturb other campsite users.

 

  • Guests may only use generators with the site manager’s permission, as the noise levels can disturb other campsite users. 

 

  • Smoking

 

  • Cigarette ends must be properly extinguished and disposed of responsibly. Do NOT throw them on the ground or in the hedge. 

 

  • Vehicle parking

 

  • Vehicles are parked at the campsite at the owner’s risk. 

  • Vehicle speed on site must no more than 5 mph.

 

  • Lost property

 

  • We are happy to return items that have been left following departure. However, there will be a minimum charge of £5.00 to cover postage and packaging. 

 

  • On site

 

  • Guests must obey all instructions given by the site manager. 

  • Guests must dispose of rubbish, waste water, and chemical waste as directed by the site manager. 

  • Any broken camping equipment must be taken home and not disposed of in our rubbish bins. The bins are only to be used for day to day waste from food etc.

  • Camping units are NOT permitted to be left unattended overnight. 

  • The use of gas cylinders, with a capacity greater than 15 kg, is not recommended for supplying touring caravans, motor homes, or tents. 

 

  • Termination policy

 

  • Cairds Camping & Caravan Site can, without notice, terminate a party's stay, if the behaviour of people, or pets, in their party is offensive, dangerous to others, or is considered to be unacceptable. In such circumstances, no refunds will be made.

  • Trespassing onto neighbouring land from the campsite is NOT allowed. Failure to comply with this may result in being asked to leave the campsite.

  • Please treat our neighbours and their property with respect. Anyone found to be causing a nuisance to our neighbours, or found on their land, will be asked to leave the campsite immediately.

 

  • Public footpaths

 

  • There are a number of public footpaths in the area. Please keep to the footpath and do not trespass off the footpath. Dogs must be kept on a lead at all times and cycling is not permitted on public footpaths. Please remember to keep to the Country Code (shut gates, do not leave any rubbish along the footpath, etc) and obey the landowners instructions. 

 

  • Events outside our control

 

  • We are NOT liable or responsible for failure or delay in providing our contracted services to you, if the failure or delay is due to events outside of our control. For example (but not limited to), serious damage to our property, serious adverse weather conditions, or failure of utility services.

 

  • Our liability to you

 

  • We would only cancel your booking if the campsite and facilities are not available due to events outside our control. If for these reasons, we cancel your booking, we would refund all monies paid by you for the remainder of your stay. Our liability would NOT extend beyond this refund. 

  • Our total liability to you for any loss you suffer will be limited to the total price of your booking. 

  • We will NOT be liable for any losses, which were not reasonably foreseeable to both you and us when the contract was entered into, or for any losses that were not caused by any breach of contract, or breach of statutory duty or negligence on our part. 

  • We do NOT accept any liability for any damage, loss, or injury to any member of your party, or any vehicles or possessions, unless caused by a breach of contract or statutory duty, or by a negligent act by staff members or contractors. Nothing in these terms excludes or limits in any way our liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or for any other matter for which it would be illegal or unlawful for us to exclude or limit (or attempt to exclude or limit) our liability. 

 

  • Your liability to us

 

  • You will be liable for any damage you cause to our property. Please report any damages as soon as they occur. Any damages must be paid for before your departure. We may make an additional charge of £50 if you do not report the damage.

 

  • Guests staying in the Glamping

 

  • The Terms & Conditions in this section (section 16) are additional Terms & Conditions for the Glamping Facilities.

 

  • The Glamping facilities are available to you from 2pm on the day of arrival, unless otherwise arranged with the site manager. Please let us know if you plan to arrive after 9pm.

  • The Glamping Arch and Cabin keys must be returned on departure. A fee of £6 will be charged for the replacement of lost or damaged keys.

  • Please be ready to leave the Glamping Facilities by midday on the day of departure. If you do not, you may be charged for one further night’s accommodation.

  • Smoking is NOT allowed in, or around, the Glamping facilities to comply with current legislation. If you smoke in the Glamping facilities, we shall charge you an additional £100 to cover our costs to have the Glamping facilities cleaned. Please note that offending guests may be asked to leave immediately.

  • You must NOT leave any children under 14 years of age unattended in the Glamping facilities at any time. 

  • We reserve the right to charge for items missing from the Glamping facilities. 

 

  • General

  • In addition to the terms and conditions, any additional requirements detailed in Cairds Campsite Etiquete must be adhered to.

  • Any error or omission in any information or document issued by us, or on our web pages, shall be subject to correction provided that it does not affect these Terms & Conditions. 

  • If any court or competent authority decides that any of these Terms & Conditions are invalid, unlawful, or unenforceable, that particular term or condition will be removed from the Terms & Conditions. The remaining Terms & Conditions will continue to be valid. 

  • No person who is not a party to our contract with you shall have any rights under or in connection with it. 

  • All written communications to us must be sent by post to Battenhurst Meadow, Battenhurst Road, Stonegate, East Sussex. TN5 7DU or by email to info@cairdscampingandcaravansite.co.uk (or to such other address that we may notify to you). We may send written communications to you at either the email or postal address you give us. 

  • These terms shall be governed by English law and shall be subject to the non-exclusive jurisdiction of the English courts. 

  • We can change these Terms & Conditions at any time, but the Terms & Conditions that were accepted at the time of booking will continue to be valid for your stay.
